Wednesday 4th July - Home of Julia Timmins parking and toilet facilities on site.
Many thanks to Bob Ormerod for organising our Painting Days again in 2018 and to Julia Timmins for hosting our first which was at her home The Folley.
It is a marvellous garden for sketching with various levels accessed by stone steps and ornamental gates with walls and hedges dividing them. All surrounded by textured hedging. It was a swelteringly hot day but thanks to Julia tea and coffee was to hand. Our only problem was that after finding the perfect view point, this quickly became a hot spot as the sun moved around but undeterred, we donned our sun hats and had a most enjoyable day. Our next session will be at Stanley Hall, Astley Abbotts, Bridgnorth. Bring a picnic - Sun hats and water essential!
Thursday 12th July - Stanley Hall, Astley Abbotts, Bridgnorth
Visits to Stanley Hall are always a joy - my idea of an English Shangri-La. These images show part of the main house with its challenging angles and gables.
Wednesday 18th July - The Wodehouse Wombourne WV5 9BW - Contributions to National Garden Scheme. Parking and toilet facilities on site.
Many of us drive past the Wodehouse and wonder what goes on beyond its little gate house. Here are a few images, thanks to Corrie Williams, from our last painting day when we had the chance to enjoy house, gardens and estate as we sketched and painted. Corrie also helped to look after the owner's two rather friendly springer spaniels both are constantly on the look out for food. We all took care but Pat Jones still found she was missing one pack of sandwiches from her lunch bag! Another lovely day

We are gradually losing access to local venues of interest, as large estates are being converted to
luxury apartments. The organisers of our painting days out would be interested to received information of possible new venues for future outings together with comments from members on travelling distances considered acceptable. Please remember that toilet facilities are required at each venue. Reply to: R. Ormerod, 58 Cranmere Ave., The Wergs, WV6 8TS. Tel 01902 754967
