It is with sadness that I report the death of Paul Hipkiss RBSA.
Paul was known to many of us for his beautiful prints depicting rugged landscapes and atmospheric evocations of the Black Country. He was a frequent visitor to and friend of the Society. I particularly remember the talk he gave on his father Percy Hipkiss, also RBSA, and an exceptional watercolour artist. Paul's workshops for the Society were always inspiring and memorably productive. We also had the benefit of his time and expertise when he joined on our selection panel as an independent guest selector.
A generous man with his time and talent, he will be sadly missed as a stalwart of the RBSA, where you might often have seen him demonstrating or stewarding exhibitions, as a member and supporter of the Dudley Society of Artists and also the Black Country Artists.
